As a band nerd myself (us flutes gotta represent!), I must say the clarinet is 5 kizillion times cooler than the oboe. Except when you get a really really awesomely good oboe player, and that just doesn't happen everyday. Go woodwinds!!

lol i play sax not clarinet.....me and my friend traded intruments one day (she has a clarinet) and never again i got sooo lost >.< lol but i think clarinets r pretty^^

I played clarinet in high school. I wanted to play oboe, but they gave it to a frech horn player instead:Oo: We had a slogon tyoe thing for woodwinds. W^2 cuz you know, it had w in it twice so you square it...I like it!

Lol! My sister plays the oboe and I sent her the link. I tried playing the clarinet for a year and hated it, but when I tried her Oboe one day, I couldn't make more then a squeak!

lol. Yeah, I play tenor sax, and it's a lot easier than my clarinet. When you add the octave key, it's the same note, as opposed to clarinet which has a completely different note when you add the register key. :D But I still like the clarinet. They are pretty! ^_^

:giggle: Yeah, the oboe is pretty hard. I tried playing my friend's once, and ended up making only one squeak noise and busting her reed. :D I like the clarinet much better.
